My Own Room (11) Algoa Bay Port Elizabeth

(Vintage Child's Room from Country Living)

MY OWN ROOM
I wish I had my own room
For that would surely be,
A lot of fun and happiness
And merriness, you see.

I wish I had my own room
Because it would be fun,
For no more fighting would be heard,
But cheerfulness begun.
I wish I had my own room
For writing stories and poems,
But when you’re sharing a room
It’s just MOANS, MOANS, MOANS!

I wish I had my own room
to sit there all the day,
I would write my stories
instead of going to play.

I wish I had my own room,
It would be tidy, of course,
But when your sister hits you,
you shed those tears of remorse.

I wish I had my own room,
But wishes never come true,
I suppose I’ll have to wait,
and bear it all quite through.
