Note: Piet Retief was a farmer in Port Elizabeth, and was also a leader of Voortrekkers who left PE in the 1800's. He was Massacred along with 37 other dignitaries by Dingaan the Zulu king. Dingaan and his brother Shaka, were both notorius for their murderous brutality, Shaka was murdered by Dingaan, and as history has it, hundreds of thousands of unfortunate victims.
