61. SOME WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT (23)
Does it seem, sometimes to you, that God no longer hears
and you’re tempted to stop praying, thinking He can’t see your tears?
Do you get discouraged and feel you cannot cope
with all the cares and problems in a life devoid of hope?
Maybe you’ve been praying for some need so very long
Yet nothing seems to happen and you wonder what went wrong;
Are there times your mind is filled with so much fear and doubt
that even God seems far too small to ever help you out?
Nothing is impossible for God – He is in charge
of every situation and no problem is too large;
We tend to limit Him somehow to what mere man can do,
Forgetting all His wondrous deeds and that He can win through.
In ages past His mighty power was evident and clear
He never left His children but was always very near,
At times they were quite helpless yet He answered every plea;
Although it may have meant a path to open up the sea.
If He can heal a leper or change water into wine,
If He can raise the dead to life or make the sun to shine;
Blind folk to see, the deaf to hear, and even cure the lame
no need of yours He cannot meet – for He is still the same.
God has ways and methods which you may not understand,
And this is why things don’t turn out the way you’ve sometimes planned;
Keep on looking up to Him and leave to Him the rest,
Commit that need to Him again and know He’ll do what’s best.
