SUFFER THE CHILDREN
1 April 2004
You said, “Suffer little children and let them come to Me”
and You held them very gently in Your arms, upon Your knee.
I’m sure that even then You know the hurt that they’d go through
as “suffer little children” is just what many do!
You never planned that little ones should undergo such pain,
How it must break Your loving heart in pieces once again,
For children are Your blessings to people here on earth
yet so few see their value and what they’re really worth.
You want them to be cherished and nurtured every day,
Not beaten up, abused and raped, like garbage thrown away,
You see each bruise that’s given, each body whipped or burned,
each tear run down a tiny cheek, the trust by mothers spurned.
“Suffer little children” is not what You had meant,
But man is so distorted and so wicked his intent;
Children are so helpless – their rights they can’t defend
which is why You stand beside them, an ever-watchful Friend.
So many are the unborn who do not have a voice
and when it means the right to life, they have not got the choice,
You hear their silent screams when they are sucked out of the womb
and by Your side and in Your heart You’ll always give them room.
But You have seen the suffering and You’ve warned man, loud and clear
Your vengeance for these children will be the most severe;
Though it would be far better to drown within the sea
Man still must face Your judgment for all eternity.
