BOAC - British Overseas Air Corporation

The BOAC was the National carrier for Britain which eventually paved the way for the newly born South African Airways. In this picture you see the markings of BOAC, and SAA, painted on the fuselage of a "Comet" aircraft, an aircraft which sadly never really proved itself airworthy at that time.

Boeing 727 returning with passangers to PE, the "Friendly City", after the holidays in Cape Town. All of us remember with pride the old South African Airways of the 70's. This was one of the best Airlines in the world, including Africa, and had a spotless reputation for its service to the people who bought tickets, and their safety.
