What is Love? (15) Algoa Bay Port Elizabeth

You hear this word from day to day,
It’s uttered in the same old way,
But what it means, you haven’t a clue,
If you think you know, is that meaning true?

For love is something quite unique,
It can be bold and it can be meek,
It can make you happy, and it can make you cry,
It can hurt you so much, yet without it, you’d die.

It will come to each person at some time or other,
And usually causes a great deal of bother,
You may win other battles, but with love meet your match,
For love is just like can itch you can’t scratch.

Love is giving, asking nothing in return,
It comes quite naturally, you don’t have to learn,
When you’re in love, you can fight it, in vain,
For when love has arrived, then love will remain.

But although love at first can bring heartbreak and tears,
True love always wins, for this have no fears,
When you’re REALLY in love, that love just won’t fall,
Or else it couldn’t have been love at all.

If you think your loving is all in vain,
And causes nothing but anguish and pain,
Remember – God has planned someone for you
If you’ll only just wait, you’ll find love that’s true!

Love is helpful, kind and true,
Sweet, unselfish and pure, through and through,
Merciful, tender, honest and caring,
happy, contented, eternally sharing.

If your love stands the test of above,
Then you can know that it really is love,
And when you’re in love, you will always endeavour
to be true to your loved one forever and ever.
